I was watching the BBC Breakfast show this morning. The question arises on whether teenagers were growing up too fast due to the influence of celebrities, television programmes, movies, games etc.
I would love to see statistics on teenage pregnancies, the average age of marriage, the average age of divorce, including divorce rates, all for lets say the past 30 years.
Personally i don't think they are "growing up too fast". Personally i think they are exposed too early, to material and information that should only reach them at a later more mature age. This i don't think contributes to them growing up faster. Maybe we should ask ourselves "what do we regard as growing up fast"?
