My parents in law was due to arrive for a visit on the 17th of December, just before Christmas. So, on Thursday the 16th, we gave the house a bit of a "spring clean". We made sure the garden looks great, we checked the boundary walls for bird poo (and there was a lot - we have these big birds called Hadida's, well big bird, big poo and they happen to sit on the wall whilst doing it!). After that, we washed the dogs (everything and everybody got "spit and polished".
This is when i took back the dog shampoo and the flee dip to the garage that i stepped skew (i promise it was only about 12h00 and i had no cold one's yet..). I felt this jab of pain. The next day, it was a bit worse until that evening, ... then i could hardly walk.
Off to the Doctor on the 18th. Got strapped up, some pain tablets with instructions to report on Monday for x-rays. Needles to say, Monday i was told that i broke a bone in my left foot and that i either had to have a cast put on or a special type "strap on boot" at R1,400 (about 200 US $). I went for the boot because i could take it off now and then (and have a swim, as long as i don't place any weight on my foot, without the Doctor knowing) and i could take it off when i sleep. I have to wear it for 6 weeks. So, it has only been 1 x week with the boot and crutches, 5 to go!
Hold thumbs for me, it is already driving me nuts.
