Proteas "BLASTS" India to 136 for 9

What a days cricket! India (ranked no1) against South Africa (ranked no 2).

An absolute nightmare start for India.

Virender Sehwag played at Steyn, his feet stuck at the crease and gave Ahmla an easy catch at an attacking 3rd man position. This was after he only faced two balls?

The wickets kept tumbling as Steyn and Morkel kept getting Indian batsman out cheaply. Steyn finished the day with 3 wickets and Morkel 4.

Lets not forget the wicket from Kallis and the inspired run out from Boucher (Boucher, after collecting a poor throw from the boundary, throwing it through his legs and hitting the stumps, just to have Harbajan back in the dressing room as his bat got stuck trying to slide it into the crease).

The best delivery must have been Steyn to Laxman, middle stump. A peach of a delivery.

I asked the question in my previous post;
Does South Africa have the fire power to take 20 wickets in a reasonable time?
I forgot one very important factor - SA were playing at home on quick, hard pitches that has pace and a bit of bounce.
They have answered me comprehensively. To take 9 wickets in 35 overs, in a test match, is just brilliant bowling. Besides the "soft" dismissal of Sehwag and the "fortunate" run out due to the outstanding work of Boucher, the rest of the wickets was through great test match bowling. India were never allowed to settle.

The Indian batsman's confidence must have been dealt quite a blow today.

I can not wait for tomorrow, day 2.
